Wart Removal During Pregnancy Tips
For women with external warts
during pregnancy, cryotherapy and laser removal are the preferred
treatment methods. The only topical therapy acceptable for use in the
vagina during pregnancy is TCA. Podophyllin resin should not be used
during pregnancy women because it may be toxic to the baby.
Wart removal during pregnancy can be challenging for any doctor or
dermatologists. Due to the mother and the baby’s conditions there is no
specific wart removal during pregnancy that is effective to cure the warts
in the woman’s body. Depending on the site of infection any wart removal
during pregnancy should be taken cared of using an extra caution to ensure
safety for the mother and her baby in the womb. If genital wart removal
pregnancy is impossible the mother should give birth by caesarian section.
Venereal Warts removal During Pregnancy
Venereal warts are caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV), which is
passed during intercourse. Venereal warts are skin tags or warts that are
transmitted by sexual contact. They are called condylomata acuminatum.
Venereal warts may cause a problem during pregnancy, but usually don't.
These warty skin tags can become enlarged during pregnancy. If a woman has
extensive veneral warts, a Cesarean delivery may be necessary to avoid
heavy bleeding and other complications. Infants delivered through a birth
canal infected with venereal warts have been known to get small benign
tumors on the vocal cords (laryngeal papillomas) after delivery. Venereal
warts usually aren't treated during pregnancy. If warts become large
enough to interfere with delivery, your physician may recommend
removing them. If the warts must be removed, excision is the only
treatment used during pregnancy.
Genital Warts removal During Pregnancy
Having genital warts during pregnancy is definitely a source of worry and
frustration for a lot of expectant mothers. This is because it puts the
baby at a huge risk of contracting the infection. Moreover, there is a
chance that genital warts can be spread from the mother to the newborn
baby when he/she passes through an infected birth canal.
Genital warts are mainly caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). A lot
of pregnant women who have gotten infected with the virus and have
previously contracted genital warts usually experience healthy pregnancies
and have smooth birthing processes. Unfortunately, the virus can be spread
from a woman with genital warts to the unborn child not only during birth
through an
infected birth canal, but also before birth. However, the good news is
that even if genital warts don't have a cure yet, they do not have any
major harmful side effects to the health of your baby during your
pregnancy.
A major concern regarding contracting genital warts is that based on the
location of the bumps, they may result in several complications during the
birthing process. The fact that they have genital warts automatically
makes vaginal birth not feasible for them. There are some cases wherein
the bumps have grown so big that they end up blocking the birth canal and
result in a difficult delivery on the part of the mother.
In addition, as the infant descends through the birth canal, the genital
warts obstructing the path may bleed. If it has been determined that the
genital warts will completely hinder the birthing process or if there is a
possibility that excessive bleeding may occur, a caesarean section becomes
the delivery method of choice.
A second concern is that the unborn infant of a woman who has genital
warts may get laryngeal papillomatosis, which is a very dangerous
condition. It can be fatal in some cases. The symptoms of this
life-threatening illness can be dormant for a long period following birth,
sometimes as long as three years. Laryngeal papillomatosis is a medical
condition wherein warts appear in and around the throat and mouth area of
the infant.
This disease may be contracted when the virus gets spread through an
infected birth canal. Since the throat and mouth areas are both moist and
warm, they make for a conducive breeding environment for HPV.
If the infant does become sick with laryngeal papillomatosis, he/she is
required to undergo laser surgery on a regular basis in order to eliminate
the warts that could obstruct his/her air passages. Another treatment
method is interferon therapy. This could be sued alongside laser surgery
in order to slow down the multiplication of the HPV and treat the warts.
The treatment methods for genital warts for expectant mothers are
different from what is prescribed for other people. Pregnant women are not
allowed to use any over-the-counter medications for genital warts without
consulting a doctor. Almost all of these over-the-counter genital warts
treatments contain salicylic acid, which will have a negative effect to
the unborn baby when it is applied. In addition, other prescription
treatments, such as pondofilox, may bring about birth defects because
their chemical ingredients are easily absorbed by the skin.
If you suspect that you are pregnant and you think that you have genital
warts, you should visit your obstetrician. After doing the proper
diagnosis, he/she will recommend the appropriate action plan that is safe
and effective for you and your little one.
Genital warts removal can be done at home with treatment by Podofilox /
Podophyllotoxin or Imiquimod. Podophyllotoxin commonly known as Condyline
or Wartex, can be used for genital warts removal at home but should be
avoided during pregnancy. Imiquimod Cream or Aldara can be used for
genital warts removal at home and is safe to use during pregnancy.
Imiquimod Cream
is more effective in women than men, but may cause a burning sensation.
Imiquimod Cream is also known to be more effective in preventing the
return of genital warts and providing an effective genital warts cure.
Frequently Ask Question About Wart Removal During Pregnancy -
Q1 - I have a plantar wart on
the bottom of my foot. I am using Dr. Scholl's Clear Away 40% Salicylic
Acid to treat it, because it has become uncomfortable when I walk. Now
dh is telling me I should have called the doctor first. Oops.
Anyone know anything about
this?
I guess I should add that I am
pregnant, 19 weeks along. I've already been using the wart remover pads
on the wart for almost 2 weeks now and it looks like it's about to come
off, so I really don't want to stop using it now. Yet, dh is threatening
to ask the ultrasound tech this Wednesday (since I won't be seeing a
doctor or nurse that day) who isn't the right person to ask. I told him
that would be so embarrassing to me, so I figured I better get some
answers quick!
Suggest - This wart is still
pretty small and it appears that the treatment is working. The package
has absolutely NO warnings regarding use during pregnancy; that's why I
figured it's fine. From the reading I've been doing I gather it's fine
since it's such a small amount. It's one tiny wart.
If this doesn't work though, I probably will try the duct tape thing
just to see if it works! The duct tape works wonders, but it takes
several weeks. I used it for a wart on my finger. To get it to stick, I
just put the duct tape on, then cover it with a water proof Band-Aid. The
Band-aid brand Extra Wide Sport Strip kind sticks and stays very well.
Q2 - I live in a
very small town and the only Doctor is my uncle so going to him is out
of the question. I need to know if there is a home remedy for anal wart
removal.
Suggest - anal
warts are the same as genital warts!! and if you have genital warts - you
MUST get rid of them as soon as it is possible because genital warts are
very contagious!!
and if you really want to get rid of genital warts forever then you
should know that you can remove genital warts by surgery, freezing,
laser, acid or cream but genital warts can reappear again and again
because genital warts appears when your immune system is weak!
HPV is the virus that causes genital warts. People can be infected with
HPV and never show any symptoms. Others will develop genital warts.
These warts can stay the same size, grow, or go away on their own. It
largely depends on the infected person's immune system. A healthy immune
system means your body may be able to suppress the virus and not show
symptoms.
Even after the warts go away, the person will always remain infected
with HPV. That person can spread the virus even without showing
symptoms.
so you must build up your immune system because your body can get rid of
genital warts by itself if your immune system will be strong! so eat
more healthy food, more vitamins and more sport activities! (No smoking,
no beer/ale, no booze, no drugs, no junk food, no fast food garbage, no
sugary sweet soda's. Get on a good, balanced, healthy diet including
plenty of boiled or steamed vegetables.
Drink P L E N T Y O F W A T E R , fruit juices & fat free milk. Snack on
lots of RAW fruit & veggies. Get up one hour early every morning & take
a BRISK 30 minute walk - then - do the same thing again in the evening
after dinner. Make sure you eat a good, balanced breakfast daily. You
get your energy for the day from your breakfast meal. Get 8 hours sleep
each night. Flip your mattress over so it will level out to give you a
good night's rest. Slack off too much coffee & tea)
also you must use herbal treatment because you can not always live 100%
healthy...!!!
in that case Wartrol is really good (probably the best) product that
gets rid of genital warts comparatively fast and makes you feel more
confident knowing that they wont reappear again! It works by stimulating
your immune system to fight the HPV virus that causes the warts + it
helps to prevent cervical, penile, anal and etc cancer because HPV virus
in 70% cases can cause cancer!!!
and of course it is better if you use full course (5 months - if I
remember correctly).
It worked very fast and still works for me because I do not have genital
wart outbreaks anymore and my papsmear is still normal!!!
I do not know if any pharmacies carry Wartrol but I do know that you
should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about
the product here
http://www.wartrol.com/?aid=221781
The advantage of Wartrol over other natural treatments for genital warts
is that, since it is taken orally, it also acts on invisible and
internal genital warts that CAN NOT BE treated by other creams and
natural remedies.
